Trivago.com is a website where you can search for the best hotel deals. It has a program known as the Trivago Quality Test where you are paid for reviewing the hotel you book through their site.

At present, the number of available destinations is limited, and you’re limited to one hotel per month, but it fits into your travel plans it’s well worth it.

How It Work?

This is almost like mystery shopping, a hotel mystery shopping if you will.

Here is how it works…

1. Choose your destination

First, you have to choose a destination from a list of available destinations. Visit Trivago.com/QualityTest to choose your destination.

2. Sign up as a tester

Once you have chosen your destination, sign up as a hotel tester for a specific hotel in your destination.

3. Book hotel

The next step is to book your hotel stay from the list of available booking sites. Before you go, you’ll be sent a questionnaire which will take about 10 minutes to fill out.

4. Test hotel

After you’ve had your stay, there’s another questionnaire that will take longer, say 45 minutes.

5. Get paid

Once the test is complete you will be getting paid directly via bank transfer or PayPal.

What’s awesome about booking your hotel through Trivago is that it shows you all the prices from many different booking sites so you can see and choose the lowest one in a matter of few seconds instead of having to spend hours checking sites one by one. And to top it off, you are also getting paid for your stay.

How Much Does Trivago Pay Their Hotel Testers?

First, you have to pay for the hotel room yourself, Trivago doesn’t “comp” any stays. But if you’re prepared to go to one of the hotels on the current list (these change frequently), then you can get paid for giving a detailed review.

And as far as the exact amount goes, from the research I have done, ou can get paid up to $120, which is not bad considering that the two questioners you have to fill out take less than one hour to complete

No matter how many nights you stay, you just get paid once for your review. So it works best if you only want to stay one night, as you then get the biggest percentage effective discount on the room.

Limitations

There are some limits on what you can do.

As mentioned above, you’re only allowed to report on one hotel per month, and you can’t come back and report on the same hotel for another year.

Even if you go as a couple or a family, only one person can be a tester and get paid.

And you’re only paid once for your booking, no matter how many days you stay.

But if you want to be sneaky, here’s a thought for a “workaround” that will get you more money. If you’re traveling as a couple, say, one person can book the first night and fill out the tester forms, and the other person can book a second night as a tester, filling out their forms independently and so getting paid again!

Also, if your destination is n’t available on their list of available destination, be sure to sign up for their newsletter so you can be notified when they add it to their list.
